Archabald and Nora Etheridge Home
Payne County, Oklahoma
This is the original home of the Archabald A. (Arch) Etheridge family where as a young man Mr. Etheridge, along with his father Michael Etheridge and a brother made the "Oklahoma Land Run of 1989".  They each staked a claim in the Perkins, Payne County, Oklahoma area.  Arch's 160 acres was directly west across the road from the Taylorsville gate entrance where he built the home in 1909.  He and his wife Nora West Etheridge raised a family of 8 children there.  All of the children remained in the Perkins - Stillwater area for their lifetime.  Arch and Nora lived on the farm and in the same house until their deaths.  Mrs. Nora Etheridge died in 1947 at age 72 and Mr. Archabald Etheridge died in 1948 at the age of 88.

The home was moved across the road to the east in the 1990's to the Taylor farm and was refurbished for a daughter of the Taylor family.  It sits on a hill in the meadow just east of the Eden Chapel Church and Glenwood Cemetery where many of the Etheridge and Burton family and friends are buried.
