Boys turning 8 years old reached the playing age and took to the field to learn the great American sport. The westside launched many teams during the 50’s through 70’s. Many of the teams adopted the names of powerful animals for their own. So it was, that lions, tigers and bears spread out on the green grass fields with dirt-lined base paths and infields.
